For families
Parents apply for tuition assistance with a thorough but dignified process. Approved children may be listed for donor partnerships when their school is also in the program.
Apply for a scholarship—Who we are
Jewish day school and yeshiva tuition is one of the heaviest burdens facing young families. Adopt A Talmid connects neighbors who want to give with local families who need help — privately, respectfully, and with real accountability.
We are not a school and we do not replace your school's own scholarship office. We are a charitable program that reviews families and schools carefully, then makes it simple for donors to partner with a specific child or support the broader fund.
Every listing is verified before it goes live. Donors see only what they need — never more than a family's dignity allows.
Operated on behalf of ADOPT A TALMID (EIN 41-4335327).

—What we do
Families apply. Schools partner. Donors give. We handle review, privacy, payments, and tracking so tuition assistance reaches the classroom.

Apply to join the program—How it works
The program year runs September through August. Each role has a clear path — here is how the pieces fit together.
Create a free donor account to browse approved students, or give a general gift on the Donate page — no sign-in required.
On the community map, pick a student and commit to a full ($250/mo) or half ($125/mo) partnership for the school year. Multiple donors can combine until the monthly cap is reached.
Checkout with credit or debit card, ACH bank transfer (Stripe), or The Donors Fund. You can cover processing fees so the full amount reaches the program.
Your gift flows to tuition assistance for that child. Monthly partnerships bill for the number of months you choose at checkout; you can partner again each program year if you wish to continue.
Register as a parent and sign in to start your household’s scholarship application.
Share information about your family, children, schools, and finances. Upload verification such as a tax return so our team can review fairly.
We approve, waitlist, request more information, or decline at our discretion. Both your family and your child’s school must be approved before funds can flow.
Once approved, your child may appear on the donor map with limited public details. Donors choose partnerships; you can track funding progress when signed in.
An authorized school representative creates an account and submits the partnership application with enrollment, tuition, and contact details.
Our team reviews each school individually. Approval is required before scholarship assistance can reach families at your institution.
Parents at your school apply each program year. Assistance only flows when both the family application and your school partnership are approved.
Approved students may be listed by program area. Donors partner monthly or prepay for the year; we track commitments and caps per child.
—Our promise
Listings share only first name, last initial, grade, school, and area — nothing more.
Every family and school application is vetted before anyone appears on the donor map.
Partnership gifts are tied to tuition assistance — not overhead or vague campaigns.
Donors receive receipts; recurring gifts can be managed or cancelled through Stripe or your dashboard.
